With NFL quarterbacks, the top 5 players at the position earn that elite moniker.
When analyzing the yearly NFL quarterback rankings data, we were able to gather a ton of insight into who were the best players at the position from year to year. In cumulative we saw some players more frequently than others in those elite placements.
In this page our career rankings reflect who had the most elite performing seasons played, while using top 10 placement seasons as tiebreakers between players that had the same amount of elite years.
Elite NFL Quarterback Rankings (1970-Present)
Only quarterbacks that entered the league during the 1970 season or after were included in the rankings, as our data doesn’t go further into the past it would be unfair to rank players that are missing a large chunk of their career numbers.
